Acuerdo de colaboración científica entre el Departamento de Matemáticas e Ingeniería de la Universidad de "Tor Vergata" y Masticationpedia.

¿Qué es la investigación?

Siguiendo su misión, la Masticationpedia' pretende destacar la importancia de la ciencia en los campos de la neurofisiología y las rehabilitaciones masticatorias y promover proyectos científicos de especial interés temático. Porque quienes dedican su vida a la investigación, encuentran en el estudio y la experimentación su profesión y dirigen sus actividades a la adquisición de nuevos conocimientos.

Sin embargo, los descubrimientos y las innovaciones tienen una repercusión mucho mayor en los distintos aspectos de nuestra vida de lo que podemos imaginar. La investigación y el desarrollo, al estar también inextricablemente unidos, afectan a nuestra sociedad y a nuestra vida.

Esta reflexión explica por qué Masticationpedia destaca con su peculiar enfoque del tema "Investigación científica".

Simplificando, las actividades de investigación pueden distinguirse como sigue:

Investigación fundamental: La investigación básica busca adquirir nuevos conocimientos y comprender procesos complejos. Tiene su origen en la curiosidad, el interés y la intuición del investigador y se lleva a cabo sin una finalidad práctica inmediata, aunque sus resultados, quizá años después, puedan tener importantes implicaciones prácticas.
Industrial research: Also called applied research, it is chosen to find concrete and specific solutions. It’s aim is the use of theoretical knowledge for practical purposes, not knowledge itself.
Frontier research: The stiff separation between basic and applied research no longer exists here, just as it is no longer possible to clearly distinguish the disciplines. Addressing problems with an interdisciplinary approach and sharing knowledge acquired in different areas represent the new challenges of research. Today the most innovative sectors and studies are those that lie on the borderlines between different disciplinary fields. This situation leads to a new interactive model in which fundamental research questions arise by addressing practical problems, and practical problems contribute to asking new questions.

Masticationpedia proposes this model at national and international levels and wishes to be a starting point for collaboration and exchange of knowledge between people and institutions, whether public or private, will be presented shortly.

Masticationpedia is a charity, a not-for-profit organization operating in dentistry medical research,
particularly focusing on the field of the neurophysiology of the masticatory system
